Making Money Online?

This morning I looked at my bank account. Once again no fairy godmother had come along and turned my balance from red to black. My daily affirmation "I am a money magnet" hasn't kicked in yet. All my eyes see is a four-figure, blood-red balance. In numbers: minus one-three-one-nine! Help! What on earth can I do?

I'll call Jessi. She's my best friend. Together we've always been strong, and we still are! I hope we can come up with a brilliant idea. A breathless Jessi pants a "Hello" into the phone. She's decluttering. Jessi has made up her mind to turn the basement upside down from top to bottom. Everything has to go.

"Tell me, what are you going to do with all that stuff?" There was silence on the phone: "Throw it out, of course!"

TV and the brilliant idea

It clicks for me. Making money online - that's the motto now. "Tell me, Jessi. Have you ever seen those TV shows about turning your junk into cash online or selling the stuff from your attic?" "You know perfectly well I almost never turn on the tube!"

In short, I fill her in on the most important shows in this field. One thing was settled: making money online is our weekend job. If you can even call it work. Because it's a lot of fun. I realized that quickly. The clothes in particular needed a thorough clear-out.

There are special platforms for offering the pieces you no longer love. I want to get rid of it and someone else is happy. The skirt is too big, the pants too tight, and the designer bargain was only ever a closet-sitter.

I should become a saleswoman, because I quickly convinced Jessi of making money online. We agreed that from now on we'd call each other every three hours and report on how things were going and what we'd put online.

I really didn't think it would go that fast. After just a few hours I had already sold something. It was the same for Jessi. We cheered loudly together over the phone. My designer bag was sold in no time. Eight emails back and forth and the beauty was gone.

We got bolder and bolder and put all sorts of things online. We've got nothing to lose. We can only win. Then we had the idea of going through our books, because there's a market for those too. Gather all the books and into a box they go. An email arrives telling you what the items are worth and whether everything will be taken. After that the money goes into your account.
