Money Makes the World Go Round (Liza Minnelli in Cabaret)

Money, Money, Money (ABBA)

And a song by Die Ärzte that never tires of saying it: always just money, money, money.

You don't talk about money. When it comes to money, a lot of people don't joke around. What goes into your left pocket gets pulled right back out of the other. Scrimping and saving or squeezing it out of somewhere - these expressions speak for themselves. Money comes and goes. With a fat bank account, you're naturally more relaxed. Money calms the nerves. If you're worth millions, life is certainly easier and less stressful. Rich people can generally let themselves fall back more safely. Beyond a certain amount, though, money doesn't make you any happier.
But when you're completely broke, penniless or cleaned out, it's of course not a nice feeling. If you live at subsistence level and have next to nothing, you often don't feel like laughing. Money rules the world. Money alone doesn't make you happy. It's an awful fact that in Germany, roughly five percent have a huge pile of cash and everyone else doesn't. The gap between rich and poor is especially wide there.

How Do You Cope When There's Absolutely No Money in Your Account?

Plenty of people know what it feels like to have no money in their bank account. It often happens faster than you can blink, whether because an overpriced locksmith ripped you off or because you're a student living on financial aid. Lack of money and greed also often lead to crime. That's why it's important and sensible to think about your finances in good time. Younger people up to age 29 in particular often aren't yet that savvy with money. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth, so you either have to work hard or simply get lucky. You can save with simple means. You should also have at least three months' rent in your account.

No Money in Your Account - Ways to Refill It

No money in your account is no reason to despair. If things get tight at the end of the month, or just in general, you simply have to tighten your belt. It's best to spend no money at all on at least one day, or better several days, each month. That way you can be glad about everything you don't need. Vouchers and coupons can help. Raid the piggy bank! If there's really no money left in your account at all, what's an overdraft for? Otherwise you'll probably have to take any job you can get, won't you?
